Thanks Bonnie. The sizing came about by itself, as I drew the birds life-size and to scale with each other. As I completed each bird the piece just got longer and longer. It was nice to work in an unusual dimension for a change.

Thanks George. The background wash was tricky for me. It was the first time I worked with hot pressed watercolor paper, which acts MUCH differently than cold pressed. It was an experiment that, fortunately, went well.
